I had no idea that in the immediate vicinity of Avignon, I would be able to carry out activities that would provide me with so much thrills and push myself so far. Yet, this weekend, accompanied by two friends, we embarked on a “thrill weekend”, two days that we will remember for a very long time!
A climbing session in Rochefort-du-Gard
First stop of the weekend at village of Rochefort-du-Gard, located between Avignon and the Pont du Gard, for a bit of climbing. We are going more precisely to the climbing site From Roca Fortis, follow the fairly clear signs from the village along winding country roads. The instructor will be waiting for us at the end of the road, in the parking area provided for climbers. In addition to climbing, this area is also perfect for hiking, orienteering, and mountain biking.
Climbing and pushing your limits
The valley we're crossing on foot is a true haven of peace, surrounded by vineyards at the foot of imposing cliffs. After a briefing with Yannick, our instructor, and an explanation of the equipment (harnesses, carabiners, helmets), we head towards the limestone cliffsYannick puts us at ease by telling us that the chosen route is suitable for beginners, which immediately reassures us. Plus, the experienced route faces north, so it's ideal in warm weather!

We met Aurélie, who has all the qualities needed to put the group at ease (we really needed that!). I couldn't say how long it took the instructor to open the parachute. Suddenly, everything became more peaceful; I went from sensational to exceptional. With the canopy open, I couldn't believe my eyes: the landscape unfolded before me, and I took the time to savor this unique experience, this panoramic viewI regain my composure. The landing is smooth and gentle. The opening of the parachute has transformed the experience into a relaxing and extraordinary moment, with a breathtaking panoramic view of the surrounding landscape.
We were once again on cloud nine, proud of what we had accomplished and still excited by the sensations of that big leap!

Balance, strength, agility These are all qualities required for this activity. The first attempts were laborious, but we quickly gained confidence and fully enjoyed the experience!
In the end, I loved it sensation of gliding on the water and the pleasure of sharing this activity with my two companions, crazy enough to follow me on this kind of weekend.
My advice : Remember to book your wakeboarding session in advance, especially in summer, as the Urban Wake Park is very popular. Don't forget to protect yourself from the sun and stay hydrated.

We finish our adventure weekend between friends VedèneWe booked a caving excursion with Caminaterra. We had a choice of four options: family, discovery, exploration, or traverse. We opted for exploration!
Underground exploration
Led by Bruno Fromento, a state-certified guide, we put on our helmets, overalls, harnesses, and headlamps, and off we go! discover the underground wonders du Grand Avignon...to encounter stalactites and other stalagmites. In the middle of a field is a giant opening; apparently, this is the way we'll go. We'll then descend several rope rappels to reach a network of galleries of surprising dimensions!
